Thrift Video is a creative endeavor that explores the same youthful antics its creators had when they were young.

Combining an aesthetic reminiscent of cartoons from the late 80s and early 90s with a style of humor that matches the off-kilter sensibilities of popular Adult Swim shows, we have high hopes of eventually turning this season into a series.

BUT we need YOUR help...

We have more episodes already written and ready for production!  That's right, all new adventures, characters and antics, and even the makings of a second season, if all goes well!

ALL funds will go to our animation and design teams to help bring our stories to life.  Trust us, we've got some really great stuff ready to come your way.

The best news is that we plan on releasing the remaining new episodes on a weekly basis on or about March 6th, so you can see the results of your efforts almost immediately!

What better way to kick-off the New Year than with your very own web series? Exciting, right?

NATE ELLIS - CREATIVE PRODUCER

Originally from just outside the wicked awesome city of Boston, Massachusetts, Nathan was the youngest son of four boys, followed only by his less-beloved little sister, who he affectionately referred to as “the mistake.”

Ever since a young age, Nathan had a strong creative drive, but decided he wanted to fly helicopters in the Army before anything else -- a decision that confused everyone.

After seven years of service, including a year-long deployment into combat, Nathan left the military as a Captain and received his MFA in film production from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts -- a place where he began to question whether or not he had actually died and gone to heaven.

After eventually discovering that he had fallen through an inter-dimensional portal, Nathan has been communicating to us from an alternate reality where he is proportionally 15% larger in size and lives in a house with a monster named “Buster.”

DAN GALGANO - CREATIVE PRODUCER

Dan Galgano was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, USA, Earth in a military family. Moving around the country, he used a keen interest in off-kilter humor to make new friends and the occasional bitter enemy. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and entered the Army as an Aviation Officer.

Dan continued his globetrotting as a military helicopter pilot, in places such as Alabama, Texas, South Korea, and Afghanistan (probably his least favorite). He concluded military service as a recruiting officer in Los Angeles, where he found new interests in film, television, and comedy.

Dan has dabbled in stand-up, performing in legendary clubs like the Comedy Store and Improv. Dan’s office is currently in the belly of a sperm whale, and his insistence on bottle message communication is of tremendous inconvenience to rest of the Thrift Video staff.

DAVID PAUL - CREATIVE PRODUCER

When a mommy loves a daddy a whole lot, they hug their naked bodies together and make a baby. Then 9 months later, they make the baby watch as they do it again. This is how Dave was born!

Between that time and now Dave has done some cool stuff, he guesses. He’s been to Antarctica (on Google Maps), he’s seen four Sting concerts (on Youtube), and made many successful blockbuster films such as Jurassic Park, Jaws, and Saving Private Ryan (Dave sometimes confuses himself with Steven Spielberg).

But okay y’all, seriously. Dave earned an MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts after leaving behind a 10+ year career as a web designer in Fort Worth, TX. It was one of the scariest things he’d ever done, leaving a decent career and stability behind to pursue his passion of creating entertainment.

Dave couldn’t be more thrilled that his decision is paying off, regardless of his well documented bouts of nihilism, apathy, and cynicism. He wants you to know he loves you all. Now go away.

Taking place at a thrift video store in an alternate dimension, this wacky and weird original animated web series is YOUR portal to fun!

GWYDHAR GEBIEN - LEAD CHARACTER DESIGNER

Gwydhar Gebien sprang into being, fully formed, at age twenty three after graduating from college and moving to the city of Chicago to seek her fortune. In her larval stage, she was the mild-mannered Amanda Bratton who was soft-spoken, artistically inclined youngster who was “a pleasure to have in class” and who was occasionally overlooked by the school bus driver.

She spent a happy childhood in the Chicago suburbs interested mainly in drawing, reading, and bike-riding and adamantly not interested in practicing the violin. Determined to take her destiny in her own hands, she produced and directed four short films and one micro-budget feature before deciding that it was time to go back to school to actually learn how to make films.

Packing her husband and two cats into a mini-van she drove across the country to arrive at her new apartment about the same time as the rejection letter. Undeterred, she applied a second time and was accepted to the University of Southern California’s Film Production program where she discovered a new fascination with television, comedy, and trans media.

Poised on the brink of the “Real World” she is pretty sure that The Biz isn’t going to know what hit them.

DREW DEBAKKER - LEAD ANIMATOR

A modern day warrior, mean mean stride. Today's Tom Sawyer, mean mean pride. Though his mind is not for rent, don't put him down as arrogant. His reserve a quiet defense. Riding out the day's events. The river. What you say about his company is what you say about society. Catch the mist, catch the myth. Catch the mystery, catch the drift. The world is, the world is love and life are deep. Maybe as his skies are wide. Today's Tom Sawyer he gets high on you and the space he invades. He gets by on you. No, his mind is not for rent to any god or government. Always hopeful yet discontent, he knows changes aren't permanent. But change is.

JARED BANTA - COMPOSER

Jared Banta is a composer from Boulder, Colorado, who has worked on such critically acclaimed films as "Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas" and "Tyler Perry's The Single Moms Club." His first ever composition at the age of four was called "Thunder and Lightning," which was his two-year-old brother sitting on the lowest keys of the piano with his diapered bottom (the "thunder") while Jared plinked around on the upper keys (the "lightning").

His next great triumph for piano was a piece called "Annoying," which was just a middle B played over and over as loudly as possible until someone started screaming at him to stop. This marked the dawn of Jared's celebrated Annoying Period, an exhaustive exploration of which sequences of notes would make his family fly into a rage the fastest.

Jared holds a bachelor's degree from Berklee College of Music, and while a student there, he wrote a catchy jazz tune called "Eat Poop," which his saxophonist friend refused to play in public unless he changed the title. He also is a graduate of the prestigious Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program at USC.

He brings to the Thrift Video team a certain maturity and gravitas, and a definite, complete non-obsession with bodily functions.

KIMBERLY KIM - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Kimberly Kim, “Kim Kim” aka So Jung Kim (just call her Kim) has always had a real thirst for adventure, and decided to check out Los Angeles as her next stop this past summer. Kim grew up as a wild child in Sydney Australia and had an even crazier life attending college in Seoul, South Korea. But being the obedient, submissive Korean that she was, she decided to make her mama proud and get a “real” job immediately after college.

Kim worked as a teacher in a private academy for five straight years, but even after a couple of promotions and a generous salary, Kim knew there was more to life. Her soul yearned for some more adventure so against her family’s wishes, she packed her bags, bid her life in Korea farewell and hopped on the next cheapest flight to A~M~E~R~I~C~A, having heard so many wonderful things about this great country and wanting to see what all the fuss was about.

During her time in the “Land of Opportunity,” Kim attended grad school in San Diego, worked as a school counselor in Bakersfield, and is now taking production and acting classes in Los Angeles. What a roller coaster! Kim absolutely loves eating, reading and watching crime/mystery shit, and pole dancing.

She is always ready for an adventure, and is learning to be more positive and embrace both the good and bad in life (she really hopes that she won’t get deported for not being an American).
